Strikers steal the show as Dyce go nap

The blue and white hoops impressive start to the season continued as they comfortably saw off Lossiemouth United to reach the second round of the Dominos Pizza North Regional Cup and set up a clash at holders Culter.

Nicky Wozniak came off the bench to hit a hat-trick after Gavin Byers had scored twice in the first half.

Byers - who scored five at Newmains at last week - took just eight minutes to fire us ahead, netting from Sam Robertson's right wing cross and it looked like he was going to add a second twelve minutes later when he appeared to beat the Lossiemouth keeper to a 50/50 challenge on the edge of the box, but before the striker could roll the ball into the empy net the referee awarded a free kick to the visitors and booked Gav!

We continued to dominate but needed a second goal and it duly arrived just before the break when Theo Leslie's shot was parried by the keeper into the path of Gav and he duly slotted the ball home.

Nicky Wozniak replaced Gav just before the hour and within minutes had made it 3-0 when he wriggled clear in the box before firing home and then he made it 4-0 with a fine left foot strike fifteen minutes from time before scrambling the ball home on 83 minutes to complete his hat-trick.
