A sensational opening to the first league game of the season with Colony taking the lead after 20 seconds when a long ball from the kick off let no 11 away and his cross to the far post was rifled home from 6 yards.
From the kick off Dyce went to the other end and Napier chased a ball to the right corner and rifled the
ball across goal and the ball somehow landed at Steve Bartlets right foot and he hammered it into the net.
Phew 1-1 and there were still thousands outside waiting to get into the ground.
Things slowed down for the next ten minutes but Dyce were to rue the number of chances that came their way in the first half.
Steve B had a looping header which hit the bar and went behind before the Colony keeper got his hand to a netbound header from Tom Hutchison to tip it over for a fruitless corner.
We then had an almighty scramble in the Colony 6 yd area with Paul and Sean both wasting gilt edged chances when the away defence became very hesitant.
It was one way traffic but too many chances were being missed until just on 40 minutes when a long cross from Tom Yeats allowed Steve B to rise to challenge the goalkeeper and as the ball dropped loose Adam MacNamee was on hand to flash the ball into the empty net
Half Time Dyce 2 Colony 1
The second half looked as if it was going to be a repeat of the first half when from the kick off Colonys
Number11 crossed from the left to number 9 but he headed over from a good position.
Colony had asked for an extra jug of orange at half time and we must have put something stronger in it
because they started to control the game in the same manner we had in the first ,
However it was Dyce who went 3-1 up when Napier chased a long ball out to the touchline turnrd his marker and laid it off to McNammee who chipped it over the outrushing keeper for Steve Bartlet to shoot
home from close range.
Colony were stung into action and pressed Dyce and it paid of in 60 minutes when in a goalmouth scramble the referee awarded a penalty and McKay stepped up and scored to make it 3-2
The home side were finding it difficult to contain the visitors and it was no surprise when Gill hit a fine shot from 30 Yds low into the keepers right hand side of the net to level the scores
Both sides had chances to win the game in the last ten minutes but poor finishing meant the game ended in
A 3-3 draw
