The hoops Scottish Cup adventure came to an abrupt end in a 2nd round tie at Spain Park. It was the worst draw possible, being all local and at the ground of a team looking streets ahead of the rest of the pack. Dee have reached the Grill League cup final, and won all three league matches so far smashing in 22 goals in the league games alone.
 
It would only take them 10 minutes to open their account in this one, Henderson finding his way to the bye line and cutting the ball back for PHILIPSON to sweep home. The next half hour saw Dee have more of the ball, but we restricted them to only forcing Andy into only one real save of note and a decent one it was from Philipson. With the hoops looking to hold the hosts to a single goal gap the game totally changed just before half time. Firstly McLEOD turned at the edge of the box and his low shot took a deflection to beat Andy after 42 mins. Then in stoppage time PHILIPSON found space 15 yards out and fired low into the corner.

Into the second have and Ryan Wallace and Dee's Winton had their names taken for some off the ball antics, the Philipson pulled a shot wide. Dee secure their win either side of the hour. With 57 on the clock MURRAY picked the ball up 25 yards out and his shot flew straight over Andy's head and in. 5 minutes later the ball was worked to MCLEOD and his low shot from 20 yards flew into the bottom corner. The home side saw out the remainder of the match without any trouble and added a late sixth when a square ball found sub BINNIE who slammed in from close range.
