Match report

The Blue & White Hoops cup form this season had been as dismall as the weather at kick-off, this season, but the home side went straight on the offensive and Ryan Silvers was first to test Farquhar in the early seconds.

Esslemont followed that up minutes later, following some grat passing down the middle, releasing the striker who's cross come shot wa dropped by the Islavale No1., but recovered before Mark Bartlet could get a touch.

It didnt take much longer for Dyce to steal that early lead, LEITH had his first effort blocked, but as the ball broke to Adam Mc, his ball back to Leith was sent net-bound. 1-0.

Mark Bartlet threatened next taking a ball down the middle, but his turn and shot went well over the bar, keeping Dyce on the front foot and threatening at every forray forward.

Islavale got their first real chance in 15mins when Christie broke through, against the run of play but he couldn't get a decent strike away and it rolled wide of the home post.

Hutchison nearly secured Dyce's 2nd, with a thundering header coming back off the cross-bar, following an Adam Morrison Free-Kick.

Dyce were constantly threatening and Leith had a further two chances, a one on one and a further cross, both of which were saved well by Farquhar in the visitors goal.

On 35mins the visitor's McIntosh found himself through on goal, but a weak shot only found Pennycook,

The half was to finish with an pin-point Esslemont cross which found Adam McNAMEE, who crashed hoem a shot to double the Dyce lead.

HT: 2-0

Mark Bartlet opened the chances in the second period with another excellent turn and shot, but again only wildly over the visitor's bar.

Morrison was then to see a chance to control following a corner but his touch beat Farquhar but only to come back from the cross bar and cleared to safety.

The McNamee brothers were to create Dyce's 3rd, a beautiful and accurate cross from Adam finding brother Gary McNAMEE who duly headed home to extend the home side's advantage.

On 20mins Mark Bartlet saw his attempted shot come back of the post and his header following a soon after corner was played back in only for Hutchison to see his header come back off the cross-bar for the 2nd time in the game.

Dyce were indeed dominant but an Islavale shot from distance could have tested, but it soared over Pennycook and the bar.

Wallace was to be put through by Hutchison and his first time shot went agonisingly wide of the target, before Islavale perhaps had a couple of their own best half-chances and perhaps should have done better to reduce the deficit.

Further chances were to follow for substitutes Wallace from distance and then MacKay-Scott, but neither really troubled the Islavale keeper.

A good win for the Blue & White Hoops and hopefully the start of a cup run at long last. Some new energy and positivity making a huge difference and hopefully seeing a consistent improvement in form.
