Dyce Juniors FC v Hermes

This match just about summed our season so far. A goal up, miss a great chance, ship one......then in the 90th minute have a chance to nick the points only to see a shot blocked and the other side race up the park and score to clinch the win.
The hoops opened in confident enough fashion, Ads seeing a low shot easily held and Yeats heading a corner over. With quarter of an hour played we grabbed the lead when Steven BARTLET latched on to a through ball and rounded Sweeney to net. Hermes hit back and McRae had a chance but Andy was out to block well. It should have been two-nil when Taylor had a clear shot at goal with only Sweeney to beat but he blazed the ball over from 12 yards. We were punished minutes later when BURR ran on to a simple through ball and lifted it over Andy and in for the equaliser. This gave Hermes a lift and they spurned another couple of chances before the final one fell to Ads who was clear on goal but took his shot too early and sclaffed it wide.
 
The second half started with neither side really threatening, until Steven B collected a neat pass from Leith but McKenzie did well to block his shot. at the other end shortly afterwards Yeats did the same to deny Stevenson. The remainder of the game would see little goalmouth action, with Andy and Sweeney not being forced into much meaningful action. Then in the 90th minute starts the late drama. With the game petering out to a draw a cross into the Hermes box fell through Mark but the ball wouldn't sit down quickly enough giving a Hermes defender enough time to block the shot. From the rebound the visitors raced straight up the pitch and a square ball found STEVENSON who slotted in from close range to take to points to Lochside Park. There was still time for Yeats to collect a second yellow for some verbal, despite being awarded a free kick, to cap another miserable afternoon for the hoops.
