Match report

Dyce were looking to maintain their unbeaten run up with a win today. Culter won the toss and selected  to play down the hill for the first half. It was a wind free day and the condition of the park was excellent due to the hard work put in by Dave Bartlet . Dyce got off to the worst possible start by conceding a goal in the first 4mins, Duff picking up the ball on the edge of the box and striking it first time for the opener. As the game went on Dyce were finding their feet and playing some great football. A ball was played through to Michael Taylor who went through one on one with Rossco the Culter keeper, only to strike the ball straight at the ex Dycer. Dyce won a corner on the left-hand side and a superb delivery was met by the head of Mark Bartlet, only to be pushed onto the bar by Rossco . Dyce were dominating the game now but midway through the half there was a bit of confusion in the Dyce defence, as they stopped when they saw the far side assistant put his flag up. The visitors had no such hesitation and took full advantage scoring their second of the day.
Dyce had a hill to climb now, but were given a glimmer of light, when the ball was played through to Adam McNamee who went through for another one on one with Rossco and he made no mistake by placing the ball into the back of the net. The home side were now well on top and again Adam McNamee went through free on goal, rifling a shot past the keeper to bring the scores level and finish the end to end first half action.

Half-time Dyce 2 – Culter 2

There were no changes made at half time for either team and Dyce were hoping to pick up where they left off by bossing the game. The home side certainly started strongly playing some great football only to be regularly broken down by a hard working Culter midfield. It was very much stalemate throughout the second half with both teams cancelling each other out in the middle of the park . Dyce did have a good chance to take the lead for the first time when Esslemont was left with the keeper to beat but played the ball straight at the keeper. Although it was a great game to watch as a neutral, with both teams playing good football the final ball was letting  both down. As the game went on it looked like both teams were content to come away with a valuable point and this was to be the case, with Dyce ruing a handful of excellent chances to take all 3 points.
