Not a good day at the office for sure....

The hoops resent run of decent results came to a shuddering halt, as a woeful performance saw the side slump to a 5-0 defeat at the Sports Village. It was without doubt the worst performance since Alfie and Ritchie took the managerial reigns with nothing positive whatsoever to take from the game.
With nothing of note happening early on the hoops were forced into an early change when Mike T pulled a hammy and was immediately replaced by Steven B in the 8th minute. Just after the quarter hour the home side took the lead out of nothing when a harmless looking ball was punted over the top. Gaz slipped as he turned to chase it giving ex Dycer WOZNIAK a clear run on goal and he slotted paste Reid. Shortly afterwards Ads swung in a corner which was scrambled clear before Thistle's Alexander clipped the top of the bar from close range. In the 34th minute though the second goal did arrive, with Wozniak cutting in from the right and his low ball across goal was flicked on to ALEXANDER at the far post an this time he netted. Five minutes later it was effectively game over when a soft free kick was awarded, and when it wasn't properly cleared the ball fell to RENNIE 20 yards out and his left footer flew high past Reid to make it three.
The early stages of the second half saw a little more urgency from the visitors but home keeper Stark wasn't being troubled as any half chances were off target or the Thistle back four were dealing with it before the ball reached him. ALEXANDER somehow hit the post after rounding Reid but in the 79th minute he grabbed his second. Somehow the whistler missed a studs up challenge on Coyle on the halfway line and the ball was played forward for the Jags' attacker and he calmly slotted in number four. Three minutes later the hoops misery was completed when SHAND bundled in a corner from about 2 yards to round off the scoring and a horrible afternoon for the visitors.
