It’s the time of year when as a Board of Directors and Committee at Dyce FC we take a wee bit of time to reflect on our progress against our collective objectives for Season 2025-26 and beyond.
I think we can all agree that there has been significant change at Dyce FC, starting this time last year and further again over the close season. The Club went through a huge amount of change on and off the park, that only now we can reflect and take heart that the potential disruption was mitigated by the collective commitment and hard work by all and with this has kept the progress of the Club off the park and the impact on the park relatively unchanged.
The tumultuous change in the playing squad that was required at the end of last season, fantastically looked after by our First Team Manager, Marc Reid - along with his very able coaching staff, and the departure of so many valuable and respected Committee Members since the summer has resulted in significant recruitment of new blood that has provided us with new energy and focus, ready for whatever comes at us next.
Our first team endeavours have been beyond our expectations, where under Marc, Greg, Cammy, Kyle, and Clare we have a very young team complimented by some good senior players. Our league position as of the 20th of December is 8th, HOWEVER, we do have around five games in hand having played the least number of games in the topflight of North Juniors Football. Here’s hoping that we can get a few wins in these games and shoot back up the table towards the top four positions. As a Board and Committee, we all believe this is achievable and this would be in line with our Season 2025-26 objective.
Our Youth Development covering both the Under 21’s in the ADFA League and the Under 18’s in the SHFL East continues to flourish under Grant, Jack (also our FT Captain), Garry and Mike. The 21’s having just two games to play to complete their league season, whilst our 18’s are only halfway through their season. The core of both teams will, we are sure, provide the first team with our own home-grown players, that in today’s demanding environment, again will fulfil another of our objectives.
As the year 2025 draws to a close, and with our next first team fixture not until the 3rd of January 2026 at home to Cruden Bay in the North Regional Cup - R1, on behalf of the Directors, Committee, Volunteers, Management, Coaches and Players at Dyce Football Club we wish our Loyal Supporters, Valuable Sponsors and Distant Followers a Very Merry Christmas and A Prosperous New Year.
