Our Manager - Alfie Youngson

a brief background

As we ponder a return to match days, let us entertain you with some fun and interesting insights from the Dyce Juniors family, starting tonight with manager Allan Youngson. Enjoy!

Teams played for:

Dundee
Peterhead
Inverurie Locos
Culter
Dyce (Briefly)

Favourite moment in football:

“Too many to name only one, but playing against Rangers at Ibrox in the Scottish Cup, and winning promotions and trophies with team mates and close friends. You can’t beat that”

Most impressive opponent:

“Aiden Mcgeady or Paul Lambert. Mcgeady was a genius. Paul Lambert was a Champions League winner. He made the game look ridiculously easy - always played the right pass, always had time and space and always played forward!Horrible combination when you are playing directly against him!”

What being Dyce manager means to Alfie:

“It means a helluva lot. It was bitter sweet when I first took over as I got the job because a good friend and ex team mate, Murray Rattray lost his, but it was an opportunity that I couldn’t not go for - a club with great facilities and backing, no doubt a club geared up for being major players and for winning things. Although 3 cup finals (two won) over the last 10 years isn’t enough for a club like this, our aim has to be to get more of those days on a more regular basis”
